Housework

Making inroads into the backlog of books I've got for entry - about half and half divided between books for sale and books for releasing. Hundreds if not thousands of them, lined up along the walls and stairs and floorspace. Those that aren't on shelves awaiting classification. Brought in a couple of crates from the stockroom and put them on a shelf I cleared by squishing up two half-shelves and scooting some old computer manuals along. My old VB6 text among them, a well-thumbed book indeed.

Spent the past couple of days looking closely at the Amcor/Santos relationship. I can "reverse" the trade I made a couple of months ago as Santos has fallen below Amcor by about fifty cents. Santos goes ex today, so I expect to see a significant fall in value, presumably by the fifteen cents of the dividend. Assuming I make the trade, that should give me about a thousand dollars worth of profit, none of which I'll see, of course, as I'll increase my stock level in Santos.

And then I'll wait for the two stocks to reverse themselves again in a couple of months...

The trick is to pick the right time. If my experience is anything like last time, the stock I sell will suddenly zoom up in value, and the one I've bought plummet.

The seasons are really changing now. Bedsocks are a thing of the past and I took my morning walk without a beanie. The days tend to be clear and sunny and each one is getting longer. Presumably on the other side of the world the summer is slowly drawing to a close...
