Here in HKG
Jul. 12th, 2009 04:43 pmSuch a dramatic airport! Mountains, cliffs of huge apartment blocks, airliners taking off in succession to all parts of the world. I love Hong Kong and Cathay Pacific's lounge. Champagne a snap of the fingers away.
The flight from JFK was pretty ordinary in economy. Greeted by name and plied with champagne, but my exit row seat had no window and Cathay Pacific's new non-reclining seats are horrid for sleeping in. Not looking forward to the night flight to Sydney much. But for a sixteen hour flight it was great to have easy access to the aisle - I remember one fourteen hour flight JFK to Tokyo where I never left my seat at all.
We're winding down now. It's been a fantastic trip, but perhaps too frantic a pace, especially with my toe broken early on. I'm sure it's broken, because it's been over a week and it still hurts hurts hurts.
Looking forward to putting my feet up with my family in Rockhampton. And reading some of the books I've got.
