...it's not much of one. It's a sore throat and nothing more. Thank goodness.

But I was feeling very seedy on Wednesday. I spent a lot of it horizontal, full of painkillers, reading a novel.

Thursday was much better. Lunch was on Qantas, and I walked down Constitution Avenue to the National Capital Convention Centre, where Qantas was running its annual Business Travel Expo. Aimed mostly at public servants, for some reason I copped an invite.

There were prizes and giveaways, but I scored nothing major. A few knick-knacks, a pen from American Airlines, an executive toy from Avis.

And this sweet little model. Qantaslink runs turboprop routes between regional cities, and during the offpeak hours they do the Canberra Sydney shuttle. They have introduced a longer and more powerful model, the Dash-8 Q400. Q standing for "Quick", because it can fly between the two cities about as fast as the Boeing 737s that do the morning and evening peaks. Something to do with glide slopes, I believe.

I like these planes, apart from the luggage restrictions. They fly lower than the jets and you get an excellent view out under the high wing. I generally seem to score a seat up near the front of the one-class cabin, which is nice, but the sight of those prop blades whizzing past just a few centimetres away is a little unnerving.

Friday was cold and rainy. I did a bit of my run, but didn't like it much. On the upside, I've got Terry Pratchett's "Monstrous Regiment" on the Mp3 player. A good story and some good jokes, but I get the feeling I've heard it all before. Still, the occasional passer-by gets a guffaw as I pass by.

Today was even colder. Spring, huh! I finished off my run feelling distinctly chilly.
