Rain!

Forecast of rain on the weekend, and when today dawned warm and overcast I decided to do my run early. I got sprinkled on and I returned tolerably damp a bit after ten, but got most of it done. Just a couple of blocks left.

The rain strengthened after my return. Carport flooded, of course, but I'm so glad to see a decent bit of rain I'm not complaining. May it rain solidly for a week!

So I missed out yet again on driving the kids into DS's maths lesson at Belconnen. They are closing down at the end of June, so he has one more lesson, when I'll be in Brisbane. Guess that's the end of an era for us.

Had a look at Kerri's Frequent Flier points. She joined the Qantas Club in September - work paid for it - and I was astonished to find that she only had about 5 000 points, though she had gathered up the requisite Status Points for an upgrade to Silver. Seems that all her international travel hasn't been counted. The trip to Sweden in May last year is beyond reach, but she flew to Washington and Paris last September, so I should be able to get that included. Not sure why she didn't get the FF points for a dozen or so flights to Sydney and Melbourne. She got some, but by no means all. Mind you, she got the status points for them and must have gone up to silver with the trips last week. Her trips to Washington in January and Berlin in May were with non-OneWorld airlines, so she only gets the points for the Canberra-Sydney legs via Qantas.

No action yet on my claims for credit on the BA and AA flights on my April RTW trip. They should give me another few thousand points and enough Status Points for Silver. Jeez, what an airline junkie I am! Might go and hang out on Airliners.net a bit more.

Some dissent amongst the junior members as to how to handle FF points. DD, who loves flying as much as I do, reckons that the provisions for points transfer to family members should be brought into play so she and Kerri can take a shopping trip to Vietnam. This would put paid to my dreams of a business class upgrade on my next big trip, but I think I'll have to give up the points in the interests of fairness.

We got 30mm of rain today, the news reports. Cool!
