Just the three of us
Sep. 11th, 2004 10:54 pmSaw Kerri off this morning on her round-the-world-in-a-week trek. As I write she's halfway across the Pacific. It's Saturday evening now, but it will be Saturday morning afresh when she lands in LA, and late in the evening when she gets into Washington. Always feel a bit blue to see her go. We drove down to the end of the runway and watched as her Dash-8 lifted into the air and headed for Sydney before spending several hours shopping at Tuggeranong. I regret that "comfort food" such as cupcakes and icecream and sweet biscuits and individual yogurts featured more or less heavily.
Son managed to cut his heel this afternoon, didn't tell anyone and it wasn't until we spotted a trail of blood leading down towards the computer room that it came to official notice. He'd rinsed off the blood and whacked a couple of bandaids on - a pretty shoddy job, but the bleeding had more or less stopped. Nothing serious, on closer examination, just a strip of skin maybe three centimetres long ripped off, but I forced him to have a bath and get it dressed properly, which I did with some elastoplast strips. Have to keep an eye on it, but it looks pretty clean and it's only shallow.
Daughter spent a fair bit of time texting messages and arranging a video evening with her two college mates. They will be girls together and swap tales and she'll come back happy and bubbly. As she so often does.
Some decent rain these past few days. A pleasure to see, though I doubt that anyone reading this in Florida will sympathise.
