Faraway Lands
Apr. 29th, 2004 09:45 amMy dear wife returned home yesterday, announcing that she was being sent to Uppsala in four weeks' time. I'm used to her being sent to Sydney or Melbourne at the drop of a hat, but this is coming it rather high. Unfortunately, they will not throw in another business class ticket for a spouse to keep her morale up during the ordeal.
She has volunteered, dear woman she is, to carry some books to Sweden for me, releasing them along the way.
If she stays in her current position, she'll be sent off to Europe every six months. Perhaps I can save my pennies and accompany her next time around, though I rather suspect that it would be at the very back of quite a different aircraft!
Pete, contemplating "Bookcrossing through the South of France"
