Master and Commander
Apr. 24th, 2004 07:13 pmBought the 2 DVD set yesterday, scooping a couple of real fans who pre-ordered through Amazon. My mate Kerry came over, bringing a bottle of rum and some biscuits from the Napoleonic times, and we watched the film again, as well as some of the extra material.
An excellent afternoon, even if it was cold and grey outside, we sailed with Lucky Jack through two oceans and onto victory. Kerry and I discussed a new writing project which could be a lot of fun, and a lot of research.
Printed out a copy of my "final" version of BXing Through M-E to proofread and I've discovered a couple of minor corrections already. All told it looks a lot better than the version I sent over to St Louis.
Anzac Day tomorrow. Have to get up around 0430 to make the Dawn Service. Have to dress up warmly. It's my daughter who's keen - I generally only go every few years to keep in touch. Left a bunch of books along Anzac Parade last year, but this time around I haven't got anything suitable.
