The Electric Heat Aid Acid Test
Jun. 21st, 2006 06:44 amIt works, it works, IT WORKS!
Our new gas heating system, installed yesterday, and programmed to come on at six this morning, works perfectly. And I did the programming, with the guidance of a manual that explained the touch screen system. I was very dubious about this, but at precisely six this morning there was a gratifying gush and rush of warm air.
Just like there was last winter when the electric furnace was working. Along with a thermostat dial and a timer that buzzed gently to itself and clicked over the little plastic red and green flags that turned the thing on and off. A simple, mechanical system, but not one that really needed a manual written by a million monkeys.
You may now think of me warmly.
